Flatten standard PDF form fields into static page content. Filled values remain visible but are no longer editable form fields.
- Choose your source files.
- Check filled values in the preview before flattening.
- Run the tool, review the result, and download your copy.
A practical example
After completing a construction review form, flatten a copy for a handoff that should show the entered values consistently. Reopen the result to check each value and keep the editable source separately.
Good to know
This flattens AcroForm fields, not every comment or layer. XFA forms and signed PDFs are unsupported.
Keep your original. Review the downloaded result before issuing, printing, or replacing a project file.
About Flatten PDF forms
What does flattening a PDF form do?
Flattening paints standard AcroForm field appearances into the page and removes those interactive fields. Their values remain visible, but recipients can no longer edit them as form fields.
Does this flatten every annotation, layer, or signature?
No. This tool specifically flattens AcroForm fields. It does not flatten every comment or PDF layer, and it rejects XFA forms and signed PDFs. A PDF without interactive fields produces a clear no-fields message.
Is this tool free, and do files get uploaded?
Yes. This tool runs locally in your browser without an account. PolyPDF does not receive your input files. Downloads are saved only when you choose to save them.
What files and limits does this tool support?
Choose 1 PDF files. The toolkit supports up to 30 MB per file, 80 MB total input, and 500 PDF pages. Image rendering is limited to 100 pages per operation and 16 megapixels per page. Password-protected files are unsupported; editing signed files is blocked.
Can an AI assistant use this tool?
Yes. The downloadable local MCP server exposes the same operation and validation rules. Compatible browser agents can use the selected files through WebMCP when their browser supports it. Read the setup and privacy details.
