Purchase, licensing, and product help for PolyPDF on Mac and Windows

Get help with installation, product workflows, purchases, and license activation. The current public release is PolyPDF 1.5.7 (build 29) on Mac and Windows. When you write in, include the version shown in About, your operating system, and Stripe receipt details when relevant.

Update to 1.5.7

  • Save your work, choose Help > Check for Updates, and follow the prompt. On Windows, a downloaded update installs when you quit. Close and reopen the app to finish updating.
  • After relaunch, About should show version 1.5.7, build 29. Your existing PolyPDF 1.x Pro license continues to apply.
  • If an update is unavailable, use the current Mac or Windows download on this site. Mac requires macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon or Intel; Windows requires Windows 10 or 11, x64.

Wheel zoom, panning, and snapshots

  • Zoom with the mouse wheel in Single page view without holding Command. Multipage views scroll by default. Customize wheel and double-click-drag zoom separately for each layout in Settings > View, or right-click the page-layout buttons in the bottom bar.
  • Double-click and drag to zoom around the point you choose. When the wheel is set to scroll in Single page view, scrolling past a page edge advances to the next or previous page, with protection against accidental trackpad momentum.
  • Hold Shift and drag with the left mouse button to pan. Hold Shift while scrolling the wheel to pan horizontally.
  • Snapshots retain their size and proportions when pasted between differently rotated pages. Saved snapshot artwork also preserves its orientation when opened in other PDF viewers.

Highlights, arcs, cutouts, and estimate scrolling

  • Select a filled annotation and use Highlight beside Fill in the style toolbar to blend its color with the drawing underneath.
  • For an arc, drag the middle handle to change radius or an end handle to change sweep. Helper dimensions show radius for middle and corner handles, and arc length for sweep handles.
  • Select an area cutout to resize it with handles aligned to its selection frame, or drag inside it to move the opening. Check the net area after changing a cutout.
  • The estimate workspace supports vertical and horizontal scrolling and keeps its position when you edit a value.

Trouble opening a PDF on a Windows shared drive

  • Version 1.5.4 removes an unnecessary file operation from the Windows checks performed before opening a PDF. Update first, then retry using a copy of the affected file.
  • If the error continues, use Help > Report to Support immediately afterwards. Include the time, exact error message, and whether you opened the file by double-clicking or through File > Open.
  • Tell us whether the file is still visible in File Explorer and opens in another PDF reader, whether a local copy opens, what hosts the shared drive (Windows Server or NAS), and whether you use a VPN.

Stamps, presentation, and metric dimensions

  • Open the arrow beside Stamp > Create Interactive Stamp… to start with a blank canvas. Add to toolset is optional and unchecked by default.
  • For a placed interactive stamp, use Properties to change its values. A visual stamp does not create a certificate signature.
  • Open a PDF and choose View > Presentation Mode. Use arrow keys to change pages and Escape to return to the workspace.
  • New metric dimensions default to millimetres. Existing document formats are preserved; check Measurements > Formatting and verify the page scale when a displayed value is unexpected.

Revision Package help

  • For a Revision Package issue, include the stage you were in: import, reconciliation, changes and impact, references, or publication.
  • Include the issue label, affected sheet number, and the exact message shown. Do not email confidential drawings unless support asks for a safe reproduction.
  • Free users can view and navigate an existing Revision Package. Creating or changing package state and publishing require PolyPDF Pro.

Refunds and billing

  • Direct website purchases processed by Stripe include PolyPDF's 14-day money-back guarantee, in addition to any non-waivable consumer rights.
  • Request a refund within 14 calendar days of payment and PolyPDF will return the amount paid for the license to the original payment method where possible.
  • For billing questions, use the links in your Stripe receipt or contact PolyPDF support.
  • Refunded licenses may be deactivated after the refund is completed.

Activating your license key

  1. Check your email for the key. It is sent as soon as Stripe confirms the payment and looks like PPM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
  2. Open the upgrade window in PolyPDF.On a Mac: PolyPDF ▸ Upgrade to PolyPDF Pro… ⌘⇧LOn Windows: Help ▸ Upgrade to PolyPDF Pro… Ctrl+⇧+L
  3. Paste the key and click Activate. No restart, no reinstall. The measurement cap lifts and Symbol Search plus plugins unlock as soon as the key is accepted. The drawing you had open keeps every measurement and markup already on it.

Your license key is emailed the moment Stripe confirms payment — normally it arrives within a minute. If it has not shown up in 15 minutes, check spam, then email support@polypdf.com.

One license activates up to 3 computers, Mac or Windows in any mix. Moving to a new machine when all 3 are used? Deactivate on the old one from the same window, then activate on the new one.
