About PDF to PNG
What resolution should I use for PDF to PNG?
Start at 100 DPI, then increase it if small text needs more detail. Each rendered page is limited to 16 megapixels. A 36 × 24 inch sheet fits at 100 DPI but exceeds that limit at 150 DPI.
Is a PNG export still a scaled, editable drawing?
No. It preserves the rendered pixels, not editable PDF objects, selectable text, or measurement calibration. Keep the source PDF for accurate takeoff and drawing review.
Is this tool free, and do files get uploaded?
Yes. This tool runs locally in your browser without an account. PolyPDF does not receive your input files. Downloads are saved only when you choose to save them.
What files and limits does this tool support?
Choose 1 PDF files. The toolkit supports up to 30 MB per file, 80 MB total input, and 500 PDF pages. Image rendering is limited to 100 pages per operation and 16 megapixels per page. Password-protected files are unsupported; editing signed files is blocked.
Can an AI assistant use this tool?
