Interleave two PDFs by alternating pages from each file. Reverse the second file when the back-side scan is in reverse order.
- Choose your source files.
- Place front pages first and back pages second.
- Run the tool, review the result, and download your copy.
A practical example
Scan the front sides into one PDF and the back sides into another. Choose the front file first. If the backs arrived in reverse order, enable Reverse second PDF before combining.
Good to know
If the files have different page counts, remaining pages are appended.
Keep your original. Review the downloaded result before issuing, printing, or replacing a project file.
About Interleave PDFs
What is the difference between merging and interleaving PDFs?
Merge PDF places all of file A before all of file B. Interleave PDFs alternates A1, B1, A2, B2, making it useful for separate front-side and back-side scans.
What happens if the PDFs have different page counts?
Pages alternate while both files have pages available. Remaining pages from the longer file are appended. Check the result carefully when a scanner has skipped blank sides.
Is this tool free, and do files get uploaded?
Yes. This tool runs locally in your browser without an account. PolyPDF does not receive your input files. Downloads are saved only when you choose to save them.
What files and limits does this tool support?
Choose 2 PDF files. The toolkit supports up to 30 MB per file, 80 MB total input, and 500 PDF pages. Image rendering is limited to 100 pages per operation and 16 megapixels per page. Password-protected files are unsupported; editing signed files is blocked.
Can an AI assistant use this tool?
Yes. The downloadable local MCP server exposes the same operation and validation rules. Compatible browser agents can use the selected files through WebMCP when their browser supports it. Read the setup and privacy details.
