PolyPDF 1.1.3 adds saved markup style defaults and fixes several annoyances — almost all of it from customer feedback.

Fixed

• PolyPDF asked some Macs to install developer tools. On a Mac without Xcode installed, macOS could show “The ‘swift’ command requires the command line developer tools” while using the app. PolyPDF never needed those tools, and it no longer asks for them. If you saw that prompt, you can safely ignore it — nothing was missing from your installation.

New

• Saved style defaults, per tool. Set your highlight colour, pen colour, font and more once, and every new markup uses them — including after you quit and reopen PolyPDF. Two ways to set them: right‑click any markup and choose Set as Tool Default to reuse its exact appearance, or select a tool with nothing selected and adjust the style bar directly. Each tool keeps its own defaults.

Improved

• Text boxes and callouts start empty. Placing a Text box or a Callout used to pre-fill it with the word “Text” or “Callout”, which had to be deleted before you could type. They now start empty, so you can place and type straight away. Clearing a box also leaves it genuinely empty rather than restoring a placeholder.
• The Callout shortcut is now Q. It was B. Q matches the shortcut most estimators already know, so the key you already know works here too.

Worth knowing

• Format Painter is already in PolyPDF. Several people have asked for it, so in case you have missed it: pick up the appearance of one markup and apply it to others. It is in the toolbar's Edit group and in the Tools menu.
• Copy and paste in text fields was fixed in 1.1.2. If Command‑V still does nothing for you, you are on 1.1.1 or earlier — this update includes that fix too.
