PolyPDF 1.1.0 is a ground-up rebuild of the app, replacing PolyPDF 1.0.3. It keeps the same license, the same document library, and the same focus — fast, offline PDF markup and measurement for construction and AEC work — on a new foundation built to grow across platforms.

What’s new

• Measurements and takeoff. Calibrate a sheet once, then measure lengths, areas, and counts, and pull totals into a takeoff worksheet and legend. Measurement scales are stored in the standard PDF annotation format used across the industry, so sheets calibrated there measure correctly in PolyPDF and vice versa. The free app includes calibration and 3 measurements per document; Pro removes the measurement cap.
• Markups and tool sets. A full markup set — clouds, callouts, hatches, industry line styles, stamps, and snapshots — plus built-in Architectural, Plumbing, and Electrical symbol sets and your own saved tool sets. The Markups List tracks every markup, with grouping and per-markup color editing.
• Compare Documents. Compare two revisions of a drawing and get the differences clouded as revision-cloud markups you can edit, annotate, and track like any other markup.
• OCR. Run text recognition on scanned sheets to make them searchable — including rotated labels on plan sets.
• Forms and digital signatures. Fill PDF forms, sign with digital IDs, and add signatures to documents that are already signed without invalidating the existing ones. You can also clear a signature you applied and keep the field ready to re-sign.
• Document processing. Bates numbering, watermarks, flatten and unflatten markups, page operations, and redaction that removes the redacted content from the saved file rather than just covering it.
• Respects document restrictions. PDFs that restrict printing or copying keep those restrictions enforced in PolyPDF.
• Verified rendering and saving. This release completed a conformance campaign against the ISO 32000-2 PDF standard: files PolyPDF renders and saves were checked against the leading PDF viewers, with all 842 of 842 rendering checks passing. Markups you make in PolyPDF look the same when your collaborators open them elsewhere.

What carries over from 1.0.3

Your PolyPDF Pro license, saved signatures, digital IDs, document library, signing settings, and email templates carry over automatically. Your library stays in the same “PolyPDFMac Library” folder in Documents — nothing moves.

A few preferences — measurement scale presets, default page setup, and your recent-files list — may need to be set again in this version.

Upgrading from PolyPDF 1.0.3

PolyPDF 1.0.3 will not offer this update automatically. This upgrade requires a one-time fresh download: get the new version from polypdf.com and install it over your existing copy. Your license and library carry over as described above, and automatic updates resume from 1.1.0 onward.

A larger download

The rebuilt app is a much larger download: expect an installer in the 200 MB range and about 500 MB on disk once installed, compared to roughly 8 MB for the native 1.0.3 app. The new app bundles its complete rendering engine, which is what makes the cross-viewer fidelity above possible.

Going back to 1.0.3

The new app stores your license key more securely and removes the older, less protected copy that PolyPDF 1.0.3 relied on. If you later reinstall 1.0.3, it will no longer see your Pro activation. If you need to return to 1.0.3 for any reason, contact support@polypdf.com first and we’ll help restore your activation.
